- Avoid household chemicals e.g. perfume, creams, hairspray, cleaners...

- Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity or sunlight.

- Remove before bathing, swimming or engaging in heavy exercise.

- Use an untreated, dry, soft cloth to clean pearls.

Let them dry all the way before storing and store them in a dry box.

- Never clean shells with a steam or ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Both of these methods are likely to damage the outer layer of the shell.
