At LILYSILK, we know that comfort and caring are rooted in the respect we show each part of the process.

Fibers that come from nature are perfect just the way they are.

That's why we only use 100% natural premium materials like mulberry silk ('The Queen of Fibers') and Mongolian cashmere ('Soft Gold').

Silk Cashmere

Natural Premium Material CASHMERE

Cashmere is believed to date back to the 3rd Century BC as referenced in Biblical rand Afghan historical text. Now, China leads the way as the largest producer of this sought-after, ancient and natural textile.

Cashmere goats produce a double fleece that consists of a fine, soft underdown mingled with a coarse outer hair, the latter of which must be de-haired. Known as ‘soft gold’, it takes a single goat one year to produce enough cashmere for a scarf.

Design For Comfort

LILYSILK cashmere wool is sourced from Mongolian mountain goats, then spun to produce Grade A yarn, with a measurement of 14-16 microns width per cashmere hair. In comparison, a human hair measures between 60 and 100 microns in thickness.

With such a fine yarn, the textile feels soft and weightless against the skin and yet, up to three times more insulating than sheep wool. Cashmere wool also has the benefit of a natural stretch, so it won’t lose its shape. Like silk, with proper care it can last a lifetime.

Care For All

Woven into the fibre of all that we do at LILYSILK is the belief that we must do it with care and consideration, extending from our employees to our customers, our partners to our planet.

Silk and Cashmere, due to their natural fibers, are biodegradable and take between one and five years to decompose – 50 times faster synthetic materials.

While utilising any resources takes its toll on the environment, at LILYSILK we will always do our best to minimize this impact where possible. Most of all, with our dedication to the highest quality and timeless design, LILYSILK products will last, helping to reduce waste overall.
