The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS) is an independent certification for sustainable cashmere, developed by the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF). It is dedicated to enhancing the welfare of cashmere goats, improving working conditions for farmers, and protecting the environment.
Good Cashmere Standard®
Cashmere is the finest natural fiber, measuring just 14 to 16 microns in diameter. Even when spun into a single thread, it remains exceptionally lightweight compared to other materials. Unlike wool, the cuticle layer of cashmere fibers has fewer surface projections, resulting in a softer, smoother texture that is gentle and non-irritating to the skin.
